Roush: 2007 "Black Jack" Stage 3 Sells For $225,000 At Charity Auction!

Staff Report

Roush and Sanderson Ford of Phoenix, AZ donate one of a kind car for charity auction.

03-26-07: Roush Performance never fails to surprise us with special and rare edition cars that they build. The big story of the year for Roush so far has been the 100 unit run of 2007 Roush BlackJack Stage 3 Mustangs. The 2007 Roush BlackJack of course is the stealthy black Mustang with a flat black stripe treatment, patterned after Jack's personal car he used in 2006.

One Roush BlackJack Stage3 Mustang was built as a convertible. The car is was auctioned off to a lucky bidder during the Celebrity Fight Night extravaganza in Phoenix, AZ at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort on March 24th, 2007 for an astonishing $225,000. This makes this one of a kind Roush Mustang likely the most expensive one ever.

The event has been recognized as one of the nation's elite charity events and has become a star-studded evening presented in honor of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. Celebrities and professional athletes from all over the country participate in a night filled with incredible live auction items and musical performances by many of today's brightest stars. Attendees over the years are a "Who's-Who" from the sports, entertainment and music worlds, and includes Robin Williams, Jim Carrey, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shaquille O'Neal, Sugar Ray Leonard, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and dozens more "A-List" celebrities.

Throughout the Celebrity Fight Night's twelve year history more than $38 million has been raised with the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute as the primary beneficiary. Numerous other charities have benefited and countless lives have been changed thanks to the tremendous generosity of the supporters.

Roush Performance, along with their local dealership Sanderson Ford of Glendale, AZ has donated the BlackJack Mustang convertible to the event. And if the exclusivity of this car wasn't enough, Jack Roush himself will schedule a dinner with the lucky winning bidder during the November NASCAR races when they return to Phoenix International Raceway.

Lucky number 13 is the vehicle serial number of this black-on-black Mustang Convertible, and Jack Roush's heritage as the winningest name in racing reverberates throughout the vehicle, starting with the powertrain. It has a polished ROUSHcharger system with a smaller pulley boosts the horsepower to 430 (with 400 lb.-ft. torque). The lucky auction winner will immediately notice the handling of the vehicle has been improved by the addition of the Roush Stage 3 suspension package.

Money raised from the auction of the Roush Stage 3 BlackJack Mustang Convertible and other items benefits a number of local and national organizations including the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, and the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute which provides diagnostic and treatment services, research, and education for those whose lives have been touched by Parkinson's disease. In addition to clinical services, the Center conducts extensive research in new medical and surgical treatments for Parkinson's disease and related disorders.
