08-05-09: Roush Performance released the statistics for their 2009 model year production of Roush Mustangs today. With Ford’s truncated production cycle of the 2009 Mustang which had a fraction of production from 2008, Roush Performance indeed produced fewer hotted up Mustangs as well.
None the less, the unassuming industrial building in Livonia, MI pumped out 448 Roush Mustangs for 2009. While over 1700 of those cars rolled out in 2008, it is still a pretty good number in this economy when you consider the average price of these high-zoot Mustangs hovers around $50,000.
As advertised, only 51 of the 510hp top drawer P-51B Mustangs were built. 2009 BlackJack owners will be thrilled to know that while 100 of those were going to be made, only 47 rolled out of the factory. Like in 2008, the Roush 427R Mustang was the most popular model with 122 units produced. The rarest models were the Roush Sport Mustang with only 4 copies, and the RGT with only 2.
The Roush/Cooper RS3/C Edition Mustang which we test drove on Michigan’s Gingerman Raceway only saw 4 units produced, one in each color of Grabber Orange, Black, Performance Red, and Vista Blue
The upshot is that there are many owners out there who can now see how many Vista Blue Stage 3’s were made with an automatic and white stripes. The production statistics ouline how many of which model, with which color, transmission, and even striping colors.
There are many rare one of a kind models out there. If you are still picking over the dealer lots for a 2009, now you can see exactly how unique that new Roush really is. The full matrix and details can be found at www.FnSweet.com, the Roush Enthusiast website.
