Eye candy comes forth to soothe the hearts of Mustang lovers for Christmas.
12-25-09: While the big news is coming on Monday about the new V8, the news is already out. Granted the details and lots of photos are forthcoming, but someone broke the embargo and a few of Ford's promo photos of the new 2011 Mustang 5.0 liter V8 have surfaced.
All we can say is WOW. This is one damn nice looking engine. Ford has actually spent some money dressing up the new 5.0 with a decorative plenum cover and valve cover shrouds. This is a huge move up from the current 4.6 liter 3V engine which is arguably one of the ugliest powerplants in existence.

The new engine is said to produce 412hp and 390lbs of torque. These numbers are semi official but will be confirmed on Monday. The engine is also said to have a forged steel crankshaft making power potential nearly limitless with power adders and boost. With dual variable valve timing, compact size, and a lightweight aluminum block the new 5.0 from Ford is bound to be a major milestone. Best of all is that new 5.0 badge on the side of the car.
