04-30-06 SVTOA: As we announced last month, Ford Racing is taking the lead in finding a new direction for the SVTOA and continuing the company's efforts to enhance the Ford ownership experience -- not only for owners of SVT vehicles, but for owners of all performance Fords of any vintage. To that end, we have been working on a formula for the SVTOA to become a brand new Ford performance club by July 1, 2006, under the Ford Racing umbrella.
Our first order of business was to extend expiring SVTOA memberships while we worked out the details for a new, expanded club. What that means is SVTOA memberships expiring in the first six months of 2006 have been automatically extended, free of charge, through June 30, 2006, when membership in the new club will be offered. We have also decided that anyone interested in the SVTOA and membership in the upcoming club CAN NOW JOIN FOR FREE during this time period. All members on file as of July 1, 2006, will be offered membership in the new club. By now, all members should have received and enjoyed all of the product news and information you've been used to in SVT Enthusiast, which has been expanded to include Team Ford Racing's Inside the Oval magazine. You can look forward to more in-depth material on the 2007 Shelby GT500 and other exciting product News from Ford and Ford Racing Performance Parts. Don't forget that you'll be receiving the expanded Inside The Oval (with SVT Enthusiast inside) on a monthly basis, which is an enhanced benefit compared to the bi-monthly issues we had in the past. Plus we're busy expanding the scope of the content that you've been telling us you want included, so keep the ideas coming!
You should also know that we have been consulting with SVTOA Chapter directors to help us put together the kind of organization and benefits that will allow this club to build an even stronger relationship between Ford Motor Company and its most valuable customers. They have told us that a big part of SVTOA membership has been the On Track events, and the biggest need they have right now from the National office is the continuation of track event insurance, which had been fully funded by Ford in the past. We are pleased to announce that we have succeeded in extending our club's track insurance coverage through the end of the year! Now the Chapters can finally get on with their work of planning the local On Track events across the country.
Now's the time for ALL current members to plan on attending a 2006 On Track event, beginning with Sebring. We encourage all members to submit any and all items of interest to your Chapter Directors, and for them to forward all news and event info to us so that we can help spread the word on what's happening in and around your region – both in the magazine, on www.fordracingparts.com, and especially www.SVTOA.com. Look for all-new content and a revamp to the site in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, we've listened closely to your input and have been working hard on building the framework for the new club within Ford Racing, and hope to have some exciting announcements coming soon. In the meantime, we'll do our best to answer your questions and concerns when you call our Ford Performance Information Center. We know what SVT has meant to all of us in the past, and are committed to creating an exciting new Ford performance experience for future generations!
