1977 brought some new option and décor packages to bring the styling and character more in line with the late seventies. News colors and two-tone paint schemes were available on both the sports roof and coupe models.
The big news was the addition of the T-Top option. This was big stuff in the late seventies as convertibles were gone for good, so they thought. Only available on the sports roof, the removable glass tops gave a modern and upscale appearance to the otherwise bland Mustang.
Horsepower was a mixed bag for 1977. The base power on the 2.3 liter four was up to 92 while the V6 and V8 engines each lost a few ponies due to new emissions regulations. Sales were down about 30,000 units as the model was beginning to lose its lustre.
