Ford Racing has just announced their new high-performance intake manifold for the 2005-2010 Mustang’s 4.6 liter 3-valve V8. The high profile composite intake features an open plenum design and higher flow runners than the stock factory unit. It is very similar in design to the intake we recently saw atop the 2011 BOSS 302R 5.0 engine.
Ford Racing says this new intake is the perfect mate for your engine if you are using high-lift cams or forced induction by way of turbo charging or centrifugal superchargers. Additionally the high-flow capabilities of the Ford Racing intake will allow you to take full advantage of ported heads too.
It will fit under your factory hood though you may need to verify fit with some strut braces. It has been tested up to 5 bar pressure to assure compatibility with forced induction applications.
The manifold is designed to accept the stock twin bore throttle body and can also mount up Ford Racing’s larger bore 62mm throttle body. The manifold does not include a throttle body but does come with a new set of gaskets. Suggested retail price is $599. Part Number M-9424-463V
