Every now and then our Mustang Hobby is invigorated by the passion and hard work of an individual who sees a need and rises to the occasion. Ron Davis after buying his 2007 Mustang GT/CS looked around and soon realized there was no resource for him as an owner of the special edition Mustang to get data and information about it.
As we wrote over a year ago, Ron didn’t wait around for someone to come to the rescue. Instead he took the horse by the reins and created the Mustang GT/CS Registry. With some persistence and stepping out, he contacted the right people at Ford who have helped him with a bank vault of data and now the next major phase of his creation.
Now owners of the Mustang GT/CS can get Official Certificates for their cars from Ford. As a result of his passion and prodding Ford Performance Group has created the “Mustang GT/CS Certificate Package”. This package includes a welcome letter and official Ford certificate of authenticity with specific information about the owners car. That certificate comes signed by Edsel Ford II too.
Information contained in the certificate includes VIN build data, GT/CS VIN decoder sheet and Ford Performance Group GT/CS Body/Color/Trim production data sheet for either 2007, 2008 or 2009 Mustang GT/CS model years, depending on VIN supplied. 2011 models will begin being supported 6-months after production of that model year ends. This means it will be in late 2011 or early 2012 before 2011 GT/CS owners will be able to take advantage of this program.
