Each year we scour the floors of the annual Las Vegas SEMA show preview the hottest new parts coming at you from the host of manufacturers that keeps us in Mustang mods. This year was special because of the arrival of the new 2011 5.0 Mustang. There was no shortage of new items for that car as well as every other Mustang going back to 1965.

Mustang Engine Compartment
The prop rod is one of the last vestiges from the Pinto era still polluting the Mustang’s engine compartment with old tech. These hood lift kits are now available in the “Carbon Fiber” Appearance for your 2005-2011 Mustang. These gas strut equipped kits eliminates the need to use that nasty looking prop rod. The popular MUSTANG emblem has been added to this popular valve cover design for the small block Ford engines. This venerable valve cover design has been around for decades. It was originally created exclusively for Ford by Specialty Auto Parts in the late 80′s and many have copied the design But nobody but Specialty Auto Parts has the license to make them with legendary Ford Oval and MUSTANG emblems. One of the more exotic looking dress up items we saw this year, Granatelli Motorsports is now offering billet CNC’d one-piece valve covers for the Ford 32-Valve modular motors including the Cobra 4.6 and 5.4 liter engines. They are made of solid T-6 billet aluminum giving a completely custom and machined look. There is no question they look not. Valve Covers 2005-2009 Mustang GT
With the popularity of their decorative aluminum engine covers for the 2005-2009 Ford Mustang GT models- BBK engineers were looking for another affordable way to further dress up the under hood appeal. By utilizing a design that is built as a die casting – BBK was able to deliver a pair of performance valve covers that are both lightweight and a great value. The precise finish of the die casting also allowed for a chrome plated version without the expense of extension polishing as with standard cast units. Procharger’s trademark system is now available for the 2011+ Mustang GT 5.0. While much of the emphasis in the past decade has been on roots type superchargers, the word on the street is that centrifugal blowers might just be better suited for the new high compression 5.0. The intercooled centrifugal supercharger system for the new 2011 5.0 4V Mustang can produce 600+ HP at the flywheel, with all components needed for quick and complete installation. Granatelli Motorsports Turbo System 2005-2009 Mustang GT.
Granatelli advertises the base system will give you 450rwhp on 91 octane pump gas and up to 500rwhp on 93 octane @ 8 to 10PSI on an otherwise stock 2005-10 Ford Mustang GT. Of course you go beyond that and you need to look at engine mods to keep it from blowing apart in the long term. The basic package is built around a 76mm Turbonetics turbo, Tial waste gate, Granatelli compressor bypass valve, stainless steel exhaust components from headers to the turbo, 2.5″ down pipe with 3″ as an option, high flow twin cat system, aluminized tubing from turbo to intercooler and from intercooler to throttle body, twin 221 Spearco intercooler cores, all necessary sleeves and clamps and modified radiator hoses. Of their many products for 2011, this dual rear exit axle-back exhaust system has huge twin 4″” Pro-Series tips. Engineered using the company’s patented “Reflective Sound Cancellation” technology for a bold, muscular exhaust note, they sound pretty unique as well. . Classic Design Concepts has engineered and developed another masterpiece. Molded (textured black) in OE quality “RIM” material, this fascia replaces the stock Mustang GT lower piece with a cleaner and less complicated “oragami” look. A-Pillar guage packages have been a staple mod for Mustangs for a long time. Electronic A/C & Heater System Control Mustang 1967-1968. Old-Air Products has the answer for those restoring the interior of their 1967-1968 Mustang and need to replace those old metal bezels with pitted chrome. It’s all about saving weight and tightening it up. The stock K-Member is pretty heavy on its own and isnt the most rigid item in the Fox and SN-95 chassis.
