Today, Ford is showing off a new special edition 2012 Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible to celebrate the upcoming Quaker State 400 NASCAR race in Kentucky on July 9th.
Ford has built 43 numbered “Official Pace Car” Mustang GT Convertibles to match the number of drivers in the inaugural “Quaker State 400” race. All of them are white with black leather interior and feature unique “Official Pace Car” badging along with NASCAR and Kentucky Speedway logos.
The cars are now available at regional dealerships. Buyers of the special edition will also get VIP opportunity to:
• Drive a Sprint Cup Series competitor around the speedway’s 1.5-mile tri-oval during the traditional NASCAR parade lap prior to the 7:30 p.m. start to the “Quaker State 400;”
• Enjoy four complimentary “Quaker State 400” tickets;
• Meet and have a Ford driver autograph the Mustang;
• Be chosen to wave the green flag during Sprint Cup Series qualifying July 8.
All “Official Pace Car” convertibles are equipped with a custom exterior graphics package, special rear deck spoiler, side scoops, hood scoop, and a deck lid face panel – some parts similar to that which can be found in the GT/CS packages previously offered.
And even if you cant buy the car, Ford and the Kentucky Speedway have a promotion with lots of prize opportunities for you to get involved with the celebration. Fans can register for prizes and learn more by visiting a Ford store for a test drive or logging on to www.gotokentuckyspeedway.com from May 23 to June 30.
