First look: 2013 Ford F-150

Ford 2013 the Ford F-150 pickup gets a fresh restyle on the front-end and a few new features like available HID headlamps and MyFord Touch.

Still number one in sales for decades running, Ford intends to keep it that way. While a ground up redesign is still some years off, the new 2013 F-150 gets a new Limited model that takes luxury to a new level. Also available for 2013 is a new electric-locking rear axle and hill descent control.

An option that will surely get people’s attention is the new high-intensity discharge projector headlamps. They represent the first time the HID headlights have been available in a pick-up truck. They provide exceptional lighting and look way cool. New grille designs are part of the look too.

New 18” and 20” wheel designs are available as well as new segment-exclusive power-telescoping and power-folding trailer-tow side view mirrors.

Of course you can get Ford’s SYNC with all its voice-activated hoochie koo, but now you can also option the full blown MyFord touch in the F-150 if you really want the technology that badly.

Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited series models are equipped come standard with SYNC with MyFord Touch, adding voice control to more vehicle systems coupled with an all-new, large 8-inch LCD color touch screen mounted in the center stack.

The 2013 F-150 interior gets a new 4.2-inch multifunction display and a new center stack. New interior colors include steel gray on Lariat and a black interior for King Ranch. Both of these series receive upgraded wood grain trims too. The FX Package now has Alcantara seat inserts to give more sport to the theme.

Engines are carryover from the 2012 model year. These include the 302 hp base 3.7 liter V6, 360 horsepower 5.0 liter V8, 411 horsepower 6.2 V8 and the top of the line EcoBoost 3.5 liter V6 which has 365 horsepower.

“The 2013 Ford F-150 adds more style and technology that sets a benchmark for capability and efficiency in light-duty pickups,” said F-150 Marketing Manager Raj Sarkar. “We continue to focus on the no-compromise solution for our customers, giving them all of the conveniences and technologies they want with the capability they need and the fuel efficiency to go further.”
