2014 Cobra Jet Mustangs available for order
The Cobra Jet Mustang is back for 2014, and builds are to be limited to only 50 of the purpose build race cars. The 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet will have a supercharged 5.0 liter “Coyote” V8, specially prepared for race duty.
While it was thought by many that power would come from a twin-turbo 5.0 based on the Cobra Jet concept car that was shown last year at SEMA, the race ready Mustang will have a Ford Racing / Whipple 2.9 liter supercharger instead.
New for 2014 Cobra Jets however are some color choices including Gotta Have It Green and an exclusive Flat Black. You can order yours the wild Cobra Jet graphics or not. A new 3-speed racing transmission and parachute mount is part of the program this year as well.
Cobra Jet Mustangs start as a body shell which is sent to an off-site facility for lightening and reinforcements for drag racing duty. A full roll cage is welded in and a Ford Racing suspension is added for optimum launches and control on the strip.
The Cobra Jet also gets its own serialized number plate as it’s expected these cars will become collector items some day in the future. MSRP for the Cobra Jet is $97,990 and it can be ordered at your local Ford Dealer now on a first-come first-served basis.
Cobra Jet’s are of course not street legal and are sold on a bill-of sale.
