Prize Alert: 2018 Mustang, Camaro or Challenger!

The thing about America muscle cars is they all have the most loyal of fans. For most choosing one of the three is easy. When the Skyline Kiwanis wanted to give one away in their latest prize drawing instead of picking one themselves, they’re gonna let you decide which one you want.

The prize drawing which is coming up on December 1st, 2017 will be giving a lucky winner the choice of one of the three American muscle cars we all know well, a 2018 Mustang GT, a 2018 Camaro SS or a 2018 Challenger T/A in their choice of color.

By then, the redesigned 2018 Mustang will be pounding the streets with its 5.0-liter second generation Coyote V8 that gets more horsepower with both port and direct fuel-injection and you will be able to choose either a six-speed manual or the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission.

The 2018 Mustang GT Premium Fastback will also come with a GT Performance Package and that new fully digital 12-inch instrument cluster to go along with its new front-end styling.

If you are into Chevrolet you can choose the 2018 Camaro SS Coupe which was all-new in 2016. There you’ll get the fire-breathing 6.2-liter V8 with its 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. With 20-inch alloy wheels and the larger Brembo brakes the Camaro SS is a solid choice on the street or on the track.

Don’t like the Mustang or the Camaro? Then the 2018 Challenger T/A Plus with its bold colors and graphics might just get your attention. Powering likely the most classically styled muscle car in the bunch is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. You get your choice of the 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rolling stock of 20-inch Hyper Black alloys and leather interior complete the package.

If you cannot decide – which could be hard for some, you can take $40,000 instead. In fact I would have a hard time deciding myself as I am loyal to no brand. I’ve driven all three of these cars and they each offer something entirely different in spite of the fact they all compete in the same bull ring.

So how do you win? You donate for tickets to the Skyline Kiwanis Club at their website or follow instructions to get them through the mail.

Prices are $25 for 3 tickets. $50 gets you 7 tickets. The more you donate, you gets substantially more tickets for your dollar. Stepping up to a $500 donation gets you 90 tickets which works out to only $5.55 per ticket. Imagine the idea of taking home your favorite muscle car for $5.55.

All proceeds from the fundraiser drawing to to the Skyline Longmont Kiwanis Foundation who will split the funds to three very good causes.

Money will go to A Woman’s Work (www.awomanswork.org) who helps women in immediate financial need. There’s the The Pearl Group (www.thepearlgroup.org) who helps single parents with finances and counseling. Third, Longmont Meals on Wheels (www.longmontmeals.org) provides food to the elderly and needy.

You donate and get your tickets. Whether you win or not, you know you’ve contributed to a well known organization and worthy causes. The winner will take home their favorite American muscle car and feel pretty good too.
