01/17/07: There are over 110 Ford Mustang or Muscle Cars on the block this year! TMN personally inspects each car and give our own rating and assesment where possible. Photos and ratings will be added as event unfolds.

Descriptions given by sellers aren't always reliable, so we kick the tires ourselves. Using our 20 years of collective Ford and Mustang restoration and collecting experience we offer an untarnished rating for each car. We provide a 1-10 rating score along with our no-holds barred opinion. Sale prices will be posted at the end of each bidding day. Sale prices listed include all brokerage commissions of approximately 18%.

Time Capsule

Lot 3: The proud owner had scapbooks showing photos of the car and the barn where it was stored since 1983, awaiting this day on stage.

The car is 100% original with exception of the tires and one scratch. It sold for $7000 (plus fees). Not bad, but not what the owner had hoped for.

Hot Links

Lot 47: The promo car for Callaway Golf which shocased it Hot HX balls. The car was the basis for a special edition hot-wheel car.

The Mustang was the grand prize in a contest in which the seller won the car last year. With only about 1800 miles the car was in perfect condition.

A custom paint job and logos were striking. The interior had a nice orange and charcoal leather rework complete with logos. The car sold for $28,000 plus fees.

Sleeper of the day

Lot 99: Usually the low lot numbers mean the first days of the auction and lower sale prices. The cars expected to sell high are placed on Saturday's docket. This one slipped through and sold on opening day for $175,000 plus fees.

We spoke with the seller who explained the car had a 100% original interior with no peeling chrome. The car was almost a 10. When we inspected it pre-gavel we were suprised about the low lot number.

You don't see this every day:

Mustang Golf Cart. Yes, you too can surf the links in style.

Right hand drive Cobra. You see exoitcs in Scottsdale all the time, but during the show, they get more interesting.

Lot 669: 1959 Fiat Jolly, complete with wicker interior. "Boss, boss, the plane, the plane!"
