Preview: SEMA 2007 Ford Concept Super Duty Trucks

Staff Report

Built Ford Tough takes on new meaning!

10-23-07: The all-new 2008 Ford F-Series Super Duty - the toughest truck on the planet - is also one of the easiest to customize.  And with the help of DeBerti, XTreme Toyz and Fabtech, Super Duty is even tougher and more capable for the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

"There is no doubt that the new Super Duty is the ultimate 'Built Ford Tough' truck," said Mike Crowley, Ford Truck and SUV group marketing manager.  "In fact, it's that solid foundation that makes Super Duty one of the most flexible trucks for customizing, which is essential when more than 50 percent of our truck customers are modifying their vehicles for work and play."

Ford will showcase the three customized Super Duty trucks among more than two dozen project vehicles including F-150, Edge, Mustang and Focus starting Oct. 30.

Ford F-450 Super Duty by X-Treme Toyz

This truck will leave you shaken and stirred. The Shaker 4x450 from X-Treme Toyz is the ultimate in off-road playthings. The massive F-450 sits 10-inches over stock on a Fabtech suspension with Dirt Logic shocks and X-Treme Toyz front and rear torsion sway bar system. American Force 22-inch wheels wear Toyo 40x15.5xR22 M/T Open Country Rubber. The 6.4-liter PowerStroke® diesel gets a power boost from a Banks Six Gun power tuner and AFE intake system. The bright red-on-black paint scheme by Matrix highlights the Fab Fours front and rear bumpers and Amp Research power steps. The sliding cargo floor uses a Thule Xporter rack system with bike mounts for the Cannondale mountain bikes. The Roadwire leather interior features a Seat Comfort Systems massaging front seats with entertainment courtesy of a Kenwood audio, video and navigation system.

If you truly love your bike, then you'll really love this truck. Dallas Smith Corp., the world's leader in Axleless®, Lo-floorT vehicles has applied its unique front-drive technology to the 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty to deliver the ultimate hauler for your Harley. The 6.4-liter Powerstroke® turbo-diesel supplies plenty of pulling power for this low-rider, while the extra-extended cab and Katzkin leather interior provide plenty of comfort for the long haul. The Deep-V bed is custom-made for safe and secure transportation of your two-wheeled prized possession. Just drop the gate for easy loading and unloading. The DeBerti F-450 looks sharp in deep black PPG paint accented with bright purple pinstripes at the beltline and Alcoa aluminum wheels wearing large Bridgestones.

Ford F-350 Super Duty by Fabtech

Project "Power Storm" fuses extreme off-road with pro-street muscle to create this one-of-a-kind monster truck. Fabtech lifted the F-350 10 inches over stock and bolted the four-link suspension, Dirt Logic coil over shocks and a Fabtech custom Dana rear axle to a narrowed frame. American Force 20x12-inch front and 20x8-inch rear wheels accented with Fabtech custom lug nuts and wheels caps, mount Toyo 40/1550R20 Mud Terrain tires. The body enhanced with Fabtech custom air extractors and rear fender wells, a Precision billet grille, Sir Michaels roll pan and AMP Research electric side steps. The electrifying graphics are done by Haney Designs with House of Kolor paint. Cal & Ed's Temecula Audio and Video installed the Clarion sight and sound hardware, while Tito's custom upholstery, Recon doorsills and a Rhino bed liner round out the list of amenities.
