SEMA Show 2008: A Ford Show Preview

Staff Report

2009 F-150 takes center stage!

►Back To 2008 SEMA Show Index

10-28-08: The automotive equivalent to the Superbowl for us each year is the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. For one week a year, all the automakers and aftermarket parts companies come together and show off the best new mods, parts and show cars. The show spans from November 4th through the 7th.

This year we here at TMN are going to be on site all week to bring you wall to wall coverage, photo galleries, and on the spot news of this year’s show. Our friends at AmericanMuscle have sponsored our trip to Mecca once again this year and we thank them for their continued involvement in bringing this event to you!

Now, to the preview. Mustang will be a big part of this year’s show, but Ford will be highlighting their all new 2009 F-150 trucks. Ford has worked with a variety of custom builders and suppliers to come up with some pretty mind blowing concept projects.

Hi-Pa Drive F-150 - Full Story

What’s been taken out of this Ford F-150 hinges on what’s been put in. The engine, drive train, gear box and all the related parts have been replaced it with the game-changing Hi-Pa Drive™ system. The four electric in-wheel motors that power the fully-electric Hi-Pa Drive F-150 will deliver more than 600 horsepower as well as more torque than the 320 horsepower V-8 engine it replaced. Hi-Pa Drive is helping car designers eliminate oil dependency, carbon emissions and costs, while adding more power, room, performance and design options.
