01-11-08:What many people don’t know is that Scottsdale, Arizona is one of the most car conscious metro areas in the West, second only to Beverly Hills. There are more exotic, classic, and collector cars per capita than most other cities in the country.
The warm mild winters, resort atmosphere, and high zoot character of Scottsdale also provides a lot of places for an auto enthusiast to entertain their yen. If you are coming to town for Barrett-Jackson and have some extra time on your hands, we have a few suggestions as to where you might go.
The Penske Racing Museum
The Penske Racing Museum celebrates 40 years of the winning tradition of Team Penske, showcasing a one-of-a-kind collection of vintage racing cars and memorabilia. The museum was designed as the anchor for the spectacular new North Scottsdale Auto Mall facility, which was completed in December 2002. The attention to detail with which the museum and the entire facility were designed exemplifies their dedication to excellence and commitment to making sure that visitor's expectations are not only met, but exceeded. 18 racing and vintage cars are on display including 11 of the 13 Penske Racing Indy 500 winning cars. Best of all, it's free. http://penskeracingmuseum.com

The free show is a must visit during the winter as the 65-75 degree temps bring them out every Saturday Night.
