Track Days: Roush Plans Two "Hooked On Driving" Events in 2008

Pocono and Thunderhill to host popular driving events.

03-03-08: Roush Performance, along with its authorized driving school, Hooked on Driving, is offering a pair of June track dates for those on the East and West Coasts this year. Start your summer off by tracking your ROUSH and getting a real feel for what a high-performance Mustang can do without the restrictions imposed on the street, as well as learn from experienced driving coaches on how to safely let those ponies run free.

New to the Roush schedule this year is a Thursday, June 19 date at the legendary Pocono Raceway. This event will feature the full road course at this historical racetrack, and you can experience the thrill of driving the famous "Tunnel Turn" that has proven so tricky for the NASCAR drivers over the years.

Following up on the very successful 2007 date at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA, Roush will once again have a Hooked on Driving presented by ROUSH® Performance date on Friday, June 27. This 3.0-mile natural road course offers a variety of challenging turns and straights plenty long enough to let the ponies under the Roush hood run.

At either of these events, you plan on meeting company representatives, see a variety of Roush automobiles, and most importantly – have fun and learn how to maximize your ROUSH® with fellow enthusiasts in a safe and controlled environment.

Hooked On Driving puts drivers of street cars from all manufacturers on a closed road course with a coach in the passenger seat to help guide them through the fundamentals of performance driving in a no-pressure atmosphere. Learn "the line," what an apex turn is, and gain a more in-depth appreciation for your cars true performance potential. The event groups drivers by experience and skill level and offers teaching sessions after each session on the racetrack. Session times will be broken down by experience levels so beginners don’t have to worry about making a mistake or getting in the way of those with more track time. The Hooked On Driving Program truly caters to drivers of all levels and can help anyone gain confidence and skills behind the wheel.

Each group has five track sessions during the day which is time enough to wear out most drivers - and create a lifetime memory. All you need to provide is a car in good working order (of any brand), a helmet, and a desire to learn and have fun. Lunch is provided too!
