01-17-09: Ford is the center of attention here at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction. Located at the main entrance for the event, every patron and show-goer must pass through the sweeping exhibit stacked with brand new Mustangs, Shelbys, and all the latest new Ford models.

The main stage features the Mustang drag race simulator with two attention getting 2010 Mustang GT ‘s set side by side on the dyno platform. Each hour, two lucky winners are pulled from the audience to compete in a virtual drag race before the cheering crowds. The sound of rumbling V8 roar and shifting of gears fills the tent for about 14 seconds until a winner rises out of the action.

Around the stage are several opportunities to see and touch a Shelby GT-500, GT-500KR and a 2010 Mustang GT. Ford has on show a few of the 2010 models on a rotisserie so you can see into and underneath the cars to really see how they are built.

Other new models from the Ford and Lincoln lineup are on display including the new Ford Fusion Hybrid, Lincoln MKS and Ford Focus. Visitors can sign up to win prizes and drive the latest Ford products outside on a special test course as well.

SVT has the all new 2010 F-150 Raptor out in force too. With a miniature remote control version on hand, visitors can participate in a racing exhibition with the scale models and even win one to take home. These will surely be a collector item some day. If that weren’t enough, you can even win a chance to ride in a full size Raptor on the off-road race track out in back with trained off-road race drivers.

If you are a Ford enthusiast, the Barrett-Jackson event is a must see. Ford pulls out all the stops for this event and if it exists, it is here to see.
