Ford and Fender offer Shelby GT Guitars

200 replicas of the Ford Shelby GT Fender guitar made famous at Barrett-Jackson are available


02-23-07: Ford has not wasted any time fretting over the Shelby GT and its place in future Mustang history. At the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in January, a specially made numbers marching Fender “Shelby GT” electric guitar was sold with the first 2007 Shelby GT Mustang for $600,000.

That guitar is also making headlines as part of a contest where you can enter and win both a Fender Shelby GT guitar and a new 2007 Shelby GT Mustang.

But, what if you want one of the guitars that is sure to be a major collectible in the future? Well, Ford has partnered with Fender to offer 200 special edition replicas of the guitar. The Stratocaster guitar is available for pre-order from the Ford Collection as well as official Ford Collection retailers such as www.SteedShop.com. “We are really excited by the offering of this guitar to the public”, says Sam Haymart, proprietor of the online retailer who specializes in Ford licensed products. “We have already begun taking orders on the guitar and expect them to sell out in a matter of days.”

Production is limited to just 200 worldwide and each one is individually numbered on the neck plate. The retail price is $995. Delivery of the guitars is said to be in the 8-10 week range as they are all custom made.
