SEMA New Parts Previews

See ALL SEMA PHOTOS in our 2009 SEMA Photo Gallery

Some of the first press information is coming out ahead of the show for new parts that will be unveiled at the show, so I will post them as they come....

Flaming River Manual Steering Rack for 2005+ Mustang

The newest addition to Manual Rack & Pinion steering is lighter than the factory Mustang power system—reducing vehicle weight by 10–15 lbs. by eliminating hoses, pulleys and pumps.

* Billet mounting brackets adjust to modify the pinion angle for large tube headers and engine swaps in custom applications.
* Bolts into same mounting location as OEM Power Rack
* 3 ≤ turns lock to lock
* Race proven – ran at Talladega Superspeedway with Hajek Motorsports Team and Bill Elliott

This looks like a great item for open track hounds and drag racers who could lose the weight and horsepower drain.

2005+ Mustang Roll Center Correction Kit

Whiteline diagnosed 2005 on Mustang with a basic Macpherson strut front suspension that has poor roll centre control and excessive bump steer. With Mustang at standard ride height, front roll centre height is just over 2” above ground. With a mild lowering of only ¾” front roll centre migrates below ground level! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Basically it means you need a Whiteline Roll Centre Kit or “ROCK”! Mustang’s front roll geometry actually encourages roll the lower you go.

A Whiteline “ROCK” is designed to raise the front roll centre geometry by using specially engineered ball-joints and tie rod ends while still maintaining original steering geometry.

Tests on Mustang showed that raising the front roll centre resulted in a substantial increase to front roll resistance and a significant reduction in suspension compression of the outside front wheel during cornering – equals less roll. The kit also covers bump steer correction with specially engineered tie rod ends. Bump steer is the toe-in or toe-out of the front wheels as the suspension goes from normal ride height through full bump (suspension system moves up) to full droop (suspension system moves down).

The photo below speaks for itself, but TMI Products will be releasing new interior replacement upholstery for various Mustangs including the 1984-1986 Mustang SVO!
