Bonus Pics - Ford Shows Off 2010 Mustang at Road America

07-20-08: Ford is now having a good time pulling our chain. This weekend they gave the public a sneak peek at the 2010 Ford Mustang at Road America, the largest vintage car event in North America.

Enthusiasts played a part of a special public “debut” of the highly anticipated 2010 Ford Mustang, which served as the pace car for the vintage racing field throughout the weekend. The next-generation Mustang was of course outfitted in a special “camo” package, keeping some key design cues secret until its reveal later this year.

Saturday marked Ford Mustang Day at Road America featuring a “Mustang Corral” along the straightaway. Every Ford Mustang and its occupants were admitted free on Saturday to the Kohler International Challenge presented by Ford.

Note the LARGE SINGLE EXHAUST on this car. This is an interesting development that points to an upgraded V6 model, perhaps even a TT 3.5 EcoBoost equipped car.

Note the REAR MOUNTED RADIO ANTENNAE. This is most likely a logistical relocation. Reasons for this would be to eliminate radio interference that things like direct injection could cause if the vehicle is so equipped. Direct injection uses higher pressure and higher powered fuel injectors that can cause static if the antennae is located to close.

Note Covered B-Pillar means that the detail of the rear quarter window has been changed or replaced with a vent.

I hope they still make a few changes. Not liking the rear, it doesn't have enough decklid or should I say trunklid. But now I am thinking the frontside is going to be sexy...

Good eye, Dayzee! Never noticed it, but the decklid does look alot shorter than the current one. We'll see how it looks when the camo comes off this fall, I guess. Glad to see you made the transition to the new forums. Lots of new names, but it's good to see a few old ones.
