LOL, yeah, and I went through tires too, so I changed mine out as well. I don't have a pic, but found this on the web - looked something like it:

Question New and in need of ideas

Just joined first post. Bought a 1985 5.0 vert auto. - ALL Original 68,250. No body damage good top everything works all power and Ownercard in glovebox. OK, Before i purchased the car this was done-- Full true dual exhaust, new timing chain, polished cover and water pump, alt, thermo, serp belt, choke pull off dash pot,TPS,distributor,dist-cap,8mm wires, plugs,BBK underdrive all installed exc alt pulley, harmonic balancer, blaster coil plus much more. All new no used parts at all. my problem is that the car will run smooth and drive great then start to hesitate. more at slower speed but it will do it even at highway speed. It does;nt have to be warm to begin doing this.BUT NOTHING seems to make it happen. It is a CFI car i have heard some bad things about them. I have not checked the injectors-gas tank,(for sludge, dirt, ect) or the fuel pump.filter is new.We want this for my wifes daily driver and weekend fun. we will both be posting,ALOT ANY IDEAS OR HELP OF ANY KIND WOULD BE GREAT. I have built many chevys and don't want my first Mustang to be a bad one.

Could be alot of things. If you have any performance goodies in there, do you have a mass airflow sensor? "85 didn't come with MAF. Ford didn't add that until "89.

The MAF will read any change in airflow to the engine due to performance parts and adjust the tune accordingly. You can check real quick by looking at the air inlet tube between the air filter and the throttle body.

Could be alot of things depending on what mods you have done. Just guessing on the MAF.

Good luck!
