2010 Ford Shelby GT500 will be the official pace car for Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 will be the official pace car for three of the six stock-car races during Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway.
Equipped with a 540 horsepower V8 engine, the Shelby GT500 will pace the field starting with today's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 ARCA/ReMax Series race, then both of the Gatorade Duel races on Feb. 12 and the Camping World 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Feb. 14.
A Chevrolet pace car will be used in tonight's Budweiser Shootout, the NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Feb. 13 and the Daytona 500 on Feb. 15.
