Larry H. Miller, who built a single Toyota store into one of the nation's biggest auto retail chains, died Friday at the age of 64. In Mustang & Ford circles he has been well known as the owner of Miller Motorsports park in Toelle, Utah where he partnered with Ford Racing to create the Mustang Challenge racing series.
His death was due to complications from diabetes, his company said in a statement. The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies includes 39 auto dealerships, Miller owned entertainment businesses, including movie theatres and the Utah Jazz professional basketball team.
His legacy to the communities of Utah are far and wide. For motorsports, his Miller Motorsports Park is a testament to his drive for excellence. The road course and facilities are some of the finest and safest in the country with first rate facilities and a car museum that everyone should take the trip to see.
