Border Patrol Considering SVT Raptor For Duty!

We couldn’t think of a better vehicle for the U.S. Border Patrol - the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. While the Department of Energy is giving out billion to find the development of electric-vehicles and plug-in hybrids, the Border Patrol is thinking of something a little more gas-guzzling and a little more powerful than the pickups they drive now.

Sources have told PickupTrucks.com that the Customs and Border Protection division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is seriously considering purchasing at least 10 F-150 SVT Raptors to help catch those that are illegally entering the United States.

Insiders said that the Border Patrol is asking Ford to fit the F-150 SVT Raptor interiors with standard work-truck interiors rather than the standard high-end trim.

Pricing for the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor starts at $38,995 for the 5.4L V8 model and $41,995 6.2L V8 model.
