2010 Fusion lineup.---3.5 GT!!!

Ford gave us some order codes for the 2010 Fusion. They can be found at fordfusionclub.com, but here are the noticeable highlights:

FWD Fusion GT: 3.5l V-6

Hybrid Fusion order codes present!

4 cylinder offers 6-speed manaul tranny! ( 6 spd. ecoboost 2.5l coming??)

3.0l gets power increase seen on '09 Escape.

The way I read into it we will have the following powertrains. 2.5l i4: 180hp 6 spd. auto or manual FWD only... 3.0l V6: 240hp 6 speed auto only. FWD or AWD. 3.5l V6: 265hp 6 speed auto (maybe sportshift from MKZ). I think only FWD. 2.5l Hybrid: 180 hp+ elec. motor. CVT FWD.

Not a bad lineup. The restyle should help us ensure we have a winner... Especially the GT!!

Great news indeed. Unless I am wrong, I think the 2010 Fusion and Milan are going to be shown at the LA Auto show next month.

Right alongside the Mustang!

We've seen the polka dotted sheetmetal, but it will be nice to see thes cars all dolled up with a nice finish. Something that shows the lines insted of hiding them. It's all about the details, now...

The only thing about the 2010 Fusion I have seen in the spy photos that has me a bit disappointed are the new taillights. The whole rear section is a dead ringer for the old Ford Tempo / Topaz twins from the 1980's. Why Ford is digging up styling treatments from the losers of the past is beyond me. But we see this in the Ford Edge too a little bit.

I love the front end treatment, though. Real aggressive, and almost Mazda-esque. I don't think I've seen any interior shots, though.

EDIT: I found a pic of the interior---- http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/ima...n-Interior.jpg ---- It's not drastically different than the current one. Looks like more soft surfaces. Not bad, but not great...

Yep, soft surfaces are a NEED. People don't like interiors made by Playskool.......another thing I can't believe the people at Ford never contemplated to begin with.
