08-18-06: Mr. Khalid Eid of Perris Auto Repair Center in Perris, CA is the Grand Prize Winner of Ford Motor Company's "When It Fits, You Win," a national sweepstakes exclusively for automotive Mechanical Parts Installers.
Over 25,000 online entries were received from employees of independent auto repair shops who registered for the sweepstakes on http://www.whenitfitsyouwin.com/ . Out of those 25,000 entries, 10 lucky winners were randomly selected for an all-expense paid trip for two to attend Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
On Sunday November 19, just prior to the start of the Ford 400, Mr. Eid was one of the 10 lucky winners on stage for the ignition key ceremony at the Speedway's Main Ford Display. Each winner was given a chance to start up the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 with their respective key.
With NASCAR driver Ken Schrader and Ford Motor Company Director Edsel B. Ford II looking on, Mr. Eid's key successfully started the Mustang among cheers of the excited crowd in attendance. He has selected "Grabber Orange" as the color of his new GT500.

In addition to the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500, the sweepstakes also included prizes such as Snap-On Tools gift cards, Ford Racing Collectibles, Shelby Cobra diecast Mustangs autographed by Carroll Shelby and leather racing jackets.
