Mustang builder, NASCAR kingpin and engineer gives weekly video tour of his personal museum.
03-02-07: Jack Roush has been a rising star in the past decade in the Mustang hobby without a doubt. While he has gained a lot of mainstream familiarity with Mustang enthusiasts and car buyers with his custom built Mustangs and F-150's, the fact is that he is a veteran figure in the history of Ford cars and trucks.
Long before his name was known for owning one of the winningest NASCAR teams or building some of the most popular tuner Mustangs out there, work with Ford Motor Company and other manufacturers has been well known in the automotive industry. Roush Industries is one of the top contractors by the Big Three for building concept cars and one-off prototypes for companies to study and contemplate. These projects have been part of the company's portfolio for decades in addition to actually performing out sourced design engineering, testing and manufacturing.
So, all this behind the scenes black ops work for the auto makers has resulted in a huge warehouse full of cars that have become the Roush Museum .Located on a quiet side street in Livonia, Michigan along side many of the other nameless buildings that make up what is referred to as the Roush Campus, the museum is not really open to the public. A lucky few get the opportunity to visit the museum during periodic special events and tours that are organized by car clubs and Roush Performance for enthusiast groups.
In a video series called "Jack's Toys", the man himself aims to share the family jewels of Roush Performance and Roush Industries. The company has put together an online tour of sorts hosted by Jack to show off some of the many cars that make up the collection. The cars range from one-off prototypes he has built for Ford to race cars that have a history of their own. Every couple of weeks a new episode will highlight a vehicle in the museum with Jack Roush sharing his personal story for each.
We will add each episode as they are released. Enjoy.
