01-20-07: Ford Motor Company and Fender Musical Instruments worked together for charity by auctioning off a 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR and a matching limited edition Stratocaster guitar this weekend at the 37th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Event in Scottsdale, Arizona.

And as a replay of last year’s special edition guitar made to commemorate the 2007 Shelby GT Mustang, Ford and Fender have released an even more limited edition for the 2008 Shelby GT-500 KR Mustang. The new guitar comes in black with silver stripe graphics and will be extremely limited to only 100 copies. They go on sale Monday the 21st of January.

Like the special edition Shelby GT guitars sold last year they are sure to be snapped up fast. Now the limited edition guitars show up on Ebay occasionally for well over retail price. Owners of the limited edition Shelby GT Mustangs have been strong collectors of these, to make them a matched set with their cars.
