Products: RC2 Intake For 2005-2009 Mustang V6

Staff Report

Add up to 9 rwhp in less than an hour.

05-27-09: While V6 Mustangs sell more than V8 Mustang by sometimes a good margin, the emphasis on performance parts most often is for the V8’s. Finding ways to power add with a V6 is a more challenging feat, but just because owners chose one doesn’t mean they don’t want performance.

Adding a new option to the list for 2005-2009 Mustang V6 owners, R2C Performance has announced a new cold-air open element intake system for the 4.0 liter V6. The new unit features a handsome new square shaped tube that is actually patented by R2C Performance.

The company says the design provides the largest cross-sectional area along with the most effective intake air distribution profile through bends. The system uses an oil-free, easy to clean PowerFlow filter which is better for engine longevity. Oil based filters have gotten a reputation for creating engine wear and tuning issues in the past decade.

The company has dyno-tested the new system and claims a gain of about 9 RWHP using regular fuel, a pretty significant increase. Of course on of the other big benefits is that the system is likely one of the best looking on the market, giving the Mustang engine bay a needed facelift.

The same advanced level of engineering is also available in R2C’s MaxxFlow Mustang GT cold air intake system.
